Something I sent in to be posted around the school. We're going to have teacher profiles all over the place with various things about each teacher so students can read about us. This is just a piece of that.
7. Personal statement about Education and its value for you
Life without education is next to meaningless. Education is what opens your eyes to what lies beyond the horizon or neighborhood or farm or wherever you are growing up. To neglect your education means to make a choice to forever live on crutches of ignorance. That decision is noticeable and dangerous to yourself and others. Your education empowers you to live the most fulfilling life regardless of life's circumstances. My options are not limited to teaching because of my education. My education enables me to chose what I want in my life. I chose to teach because I wanted to, not because I needed to. Among my other options were biomedical research, medical school, veterinary school, and pharmaceutical research. Give yourself choices; it's better than having no choice!
