Dear Colleague,
When President-elect Barack Obama takes office, his administration will inherit a struggling economy in need of immediate attention. The increasing depth and projected duration of the economic crisis point to the need for bold and significant action that will jump-start the economy, expand employment and lay the foundation for recovery. President-elect Obama and Congress are putting together a stimulus plan — perhaps as large as $850 billion — to invigorate and stabilize the economy.
At this critical time, it is important that you reach out to your representative and senators and urge them to pass a stimulus package that can be signed into law soon after President-elect Obama takes office on Jan 20. Time is of the essence.
Please take a minute to send a fax to your senators and congressperson by using the UFT's simple online form. Just click this link, fill out the form and click "Submit." It's important that elected representatives hear the concerns and priorities of UFT members.
Sincerely,
Randi Weingarten
