CNN: Alumna Sues Alma Mater Over Unemployment

CNN published an article about a recent Monroe College graduate who is suing her alma mater for her inability to find full-time work.

The article describes the alumna had a 2.7 GPA in business administration in information technology. One of her arguments is that the college focuses the job-finding efforts on students who have 4.0 GPA's.

She is suing for the full cost of her tuition as well as an additional $2000 for stress.

What's next? Suing the college for her low GPA?

What I'd like to know is the percentage of students in her graduating class that have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. If she's in the bottom 60th percentile, then her job-hunting woes are definitely understandable, but to blame the school for not putting in the effort when she hasn't put in the effort in her academic performance is astonishing.

This should be a quick dismissal from the court, there's no way that this will be established as a precedent for future students with mediocre grades to sue their alma maters for their inability to find work after they graduate.
