NSTA: DNA Day Essay Contest 2010

Got a letter from the NSTA listserv that was interesting. On further inspection, the ASHG website has a lot of resources that are useful for science educators so make use of what they have. The link has been added under Biology as Notes - American Society of Human Genetics.

Hello everyone,

To celebrate DNA Day (April 25, 2010), the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) invites you to participate in the 5th Annual DNA Day Essay Contest. It is open to students in grades 9-12. The winning student will receive $400 and the teacher will receive a $2000 grant for laboratory genetics equipment. There are cash prizes for second and third place as well.

Please visit: http://www.ashg.org/education/dnaday.shtml for the essay questions, rules and more information. The submission site will be live in January 2010 and the deadline for submission is March 15, 2010 at 5:00 PM EST.

International submissions are welcome.
