U.S. Department of Education Teacher Resource Page

Got this e-mail from my principal about internet resources for classroom use. When I saw it initially, I wasn't that thrilled, but after checking of the resources, it is quite a comprehensive site. It covers a vast array of subject areas.

On behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, we are pleased to inform you about a free online Teacher Resource. Please see the announcement below for details. This is a separate site from the Character Education Teacher Resource Guide. Thank you.

The Department offers teachers a site with a growing collection of lesson plans and teaching resources, including photos and video that classroom instructors can use to bring ideas to life in their schoolrooms. Called Federal Resources for Educational Excellence, or FREE, the site includes primary source documents, animations, and lesson plans organized by subject area and type of media, so teachers can augment topics they already are teaching with media that bring subjects to life for their students. The Department’s goal is to help teachers plan lessons and engage their students, who can be stimulated in school with photos and video just like they are in other areas of their lives.” ED’s free teacher resource page, at http://free.ed.gov.
