The BBC has an article about the whaling industry and have created a pretty neat interactive graphic to go along with it. It profiles the different kinds of whales and their status as endangered or threatened.
It seems like a pretty interesting tool to forward students to if you're interested in teaching a unit on human impact on their environment. Or even as an ethical dilemma since these creatures are essentially hunted for their meat or fat...
