Amazing Stories in the Making

Every one of my students is an amazing story in the making.  Some are tragedies, others are inspirational.

What gets my students through their day is oftentimes beyond my comprehension.  What amazes me even more is the sort of treatment students deal with outside of school.

I can't stand when people say that education is the only enterprise where failure is an option.  I have come to realize that failure is not an option, it is a consequence.  You cannot look at what these kids go through and say, they are always presented a choice not to live the life they live or to be treated the way they do outside of school.

But then again, it's a flawed perception that needs to be fixed through blunt force trauma.
