New Poll: Tenure

I've created a new poll that asks the question of whether or not the complete removal of tenure would benefit not only the teachers but the profession of teaching.

What is implied in this statement is that what is best for the profession is what is best for the students.  This should be a basic assumption that if the profession is to be improved, then the students are well taken care of.  So please don't attack me for not including "students" in this statement since the focus is on the advancement of not only the students in the school system but the profession of teaching as a whole.

It is quite common to use the argument that if teachers are not in the profession to advance their students then they should not be teaching, but I beg to differ that if the profession of teaching doesn't support the longevity and development of promising teachers, then to hell with how the students are going to do in school.  For this reason, the focus will remain on the profession of teaching, which includes any student performance indicators that reflect the profession.

Keep this in mind as I would like anybody who votes on this poll to consider what the consequences of this decision are to the profession when you decide where you stand on this matter.

I know where my vote will end up... Vote wisely.
