Saw this report at GothamSchools. It's really interesting how this is a commonly overlooked practice - admissions. The ability to deny admission to low performing or disruptive students is what makes a classroom easier to manage. Though it poses other pedagogical challenges, there are some questions to raise about whether or not schools should be mandated to take in populations of special needs or ELL students. Though, I know that will never break ground.
Sort of exemplifies the have and have-nots of our educational system.
