Republican Misdirection

Republicans in Wisconsin would have common Americans believe that the bill on the floor of the legislature is the best solution to their financial problems.  They would have you believe that Democrats have fled and are forcing the governor to resort to lay-offs.

The Democrats have taken a hard-line measure in defense of worker's rights.  They've worked with the unions to get every single financial concession necessary to close the gap however the condition that nullifies collective bargaining is worth holding out on a vote.

The governor would have you believe that he has no other choice but to lay off state employees due to the democrats who are not willing to surrender the labor union's ability to collectively bargain for its constituents.  But the truth remains...

The truth is that the governor has a balanced budget proposal.  The Democrats and the unions have conceded to every financial demand asked to close the state's financial gap.  It is the attack on the unions and collective bargaining that is the core of this issue.

If the governor wishes to lay off state workers over collective bargaining then he's the villain, not the Democrats who fled the state to protect worker's rights.

Don't fall for the Republican misdirection.  If you allow Republicans to establish this precedent and you'll allow every state in the country to do the same.

The irony is that Republicans are for smaller government and job creation but by reducing government in this fashion, you're eliminating jobs...  Where's the plan on job creation?  Cutting to a stronger economy?  That's the plan to make the rich richer, not to help the working middle-class families of America.

Who are the Republicans really looking out for?  Not for the working, soon-to-be-unemployed, middle-class American.  And it shows in Madison, Wisconsin.  If the Republicans are all for balancing budgets and shrinking government, what's their plan on finding jobs for the soon-to-be laid off educators?  THEY DON'T HAVE ONE!
