There's a link that compiles educational information about the American public and their educational attainment based on age groups.
I always find these eye-opening and occasionally send students to look these statistics up. It's statistics like this that will put things into perspective in terms of figuring out where you stand amongst other Americans in society. Are you among the top 15% in your age group? Or are you representing the bottom 50% of your age group?
What's even more interesting is when you compare the results of the more recent year with prior years. The median income for individuals 25 and over always seems to fascinate me. Though there's been little movement in these numbers it's always amazing to me how they correct for inflation and so forth.
Anyway, I hope that you as readers fall in the top echelons of American society. It's important to have a very learned populace since it opens up spaces for intellectual dialogue and mingling. For any international readers, I'd be interested to see the comparison between America's educational attainment statistics and your own educational attainment statistics.
Enjoy!
