They've already started looking at what we'll be teaching next fall...
I am apparently going to teach a genetics elective and all of the laboratory sections...
Good Side:
No Regents to prepare for.
Not as much lesson planning.
More free time at home.
Bad Side:
Labs are ridiculous to keep track of. Paperwork up the ass...
More manual labor than normal teaching.
Longer hours at school.
For the new teacher coming to our school next fall, you will probably end up teaching mostly living environment classes which is pretty good. It's better than getting Chemistry and Living Environment. Maybe I'll teach some chemistry also, but who knows. Living environment is a bit of a shock to people to teach their first time since you're so quickly overwhelmed by students, student work, and administrative work that it's ridiculous.
