SPRING BREAK!!

Thank the heavens for Spring Break. It's a nice week away from dealing with the daily grind of dealing with 120 kids.

Many students are actually straightening out. It's a little late in the semester and for some, it's too late but it's nice to see a positive change in their behavior and attitudes. It's like I don't really know them because they're so much more productive now than they ever have been.

Maybe it's because I've changed my class methods. They have been taking a lot more notes lately so it's been pretty busy for them in terms of class work. I'm just glad they're taking notes. They bitch and moan and they're just not good at studying that it's good they get practice in class.

They're also pretty bad at verbal instructions. They are great at socializing but ironically, they're terrible listeners.

After a couple of days at home with the mutt and the parents, I'll be back in the Bronx planning the final units before the Regents exam. Hopefully they'll do better than they expect.
