It addresses the popularity of Intelligent Design in classrooms and it sends the message that faith-based explanations are usually not supported by concrete, unbiased evidence. It's not something I would show to my kids but I would use the example of global warming trends and the number of pirates as an example of making poor connections to draw the wrong conclusions.
Many students support creationism and don't really question it. So it's nice to have a group of cynical individuals who have the guts to throw this out. I actually love to read the hate mail they get from people. Also their letter to the Kansas school board is just hilarity.
