Here's another interactive tree of life I stumbled upon in my search for random evolutionary resources.
This one seems a bit more technical and not as animated as the previous one I found but it gets the job done in terms of illustrating the phylogenetic relationships between species. It's also run through EMBL, which is the European equivalent of NCBI (which are both respected online resources for scientific data and information).
I sort of liked the other tree of life where there was a flash video introducing the origins of life, though the guy with the British accent would probably confuse students when he says "three-thousand-million years ago."
If you are technically capable, the new site will enable you to upload data, but I doubt that since that's something to be done by genomic researchers...
We've come a long way from Mendel's Peas...
The link has been added to Biology as EMBL - Interactive Tree of Life.
Enjoy and good luck!
