One of the veteran teachers in our school describes NYC Teaching Fellows as "idiots." It all started when he had asked me a question about starting a school wiki since his daughter is interested in becoming a teacher and had written a paper about the advantages and disadvantages of using a school wiki. He openly calls her an idiot also. :)
I can understand why Fellows are looked down upon after reading other blogs about unfair treatment of veteran teachers and using Fellows as forms of cheaper stop-gaps for filling school openings. But that's another argument for another arena...
But what flattered me was when he said to me and another ELA teacher, "Fellows are idiots... You guys are Fellows, but you're not idiots..."
