There's talk of virtual autopsy software coming out.
If you are teaching forensic science or anatomy, I'd consider keeping track of this development. I don't particularly have a need for such software and in my experience with other anatomy software, I wouldn't be surprised if it's either too difficult to use or not worth diverting instructional time.
But it sounds cool though. It could pose a viable alternative to dissection for students who are sort of squeamish with dead animals and opening their cavities. But the real question is that is it worth the ridiculous cost for such software to satisfy only a handful of students who decline actual dissection? Probably not. In either case, I may look into this anyway...
When it comes to dissection though, "I love the sound of breaking ribs in a science class." Hahaha.
I may update this as the availability of this sort of software becomes available... :)
