- It's a public liability.
- Lots of students will end up cutting anyway.
People's lives are at stake. If the clean-up of city streets have been mediocre, then what sort of clean-up do you expect of a school custodial staff?- Other districts have already announced closures as a courtesy to parents.
- It doesn't undermine the city or municipal government in any way to preemptively announce closure.
- Waiting until 5:00 in the morning is really inconsiderate and it doesn't set the right tone for a new chancellor to wait till the last minute to make an executive decision about the well-being of the public.
- If you already declare a weather emergency how does it make sense to keep schools open?
- If the kids are at school, then who's going to shovel our sidewalk?
