NOAA - Ocean Acidification

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association has a site dedicated towards explaining the effects of a process called ocean acidification.  This is a process where as the oceans absorb carbon dioxide, the oceans become more acidic.

Though they do not go so far as explain the effects of global warming, they seem to imply that the reason for these global changes in ocean composition are attributed to the industrial processes that we rely on as people.

I would check this site out, they have a lot of resources available to teach this process of bicarbonate production in the oceans.  Seems like a useful unit to teach students about the human impact on their environment.

Haven't found a good time or reason to implement this into my own scope and sequence but it'll certainly warrant a second look should I find some time in the remainder of the year.

Good luck!
