I received the following hand-written letter from a David L. Freeman in regard to teaching some form of Biblical science the other week. Read, respond, enjoy.
Dear Sirs,
I am enclosing an article on the Protein Opsin. I am requesting that the physiology of aging and death, using its structure be presented in student classroom discussions.
I am an Eastern District High School Graduate 1974, 227 Mercy Ave. Brooklyn, NY. An Ithaca College BA Biology graduate 1978, Ithaca, New York and a third year medical student, Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island.
The understanding of the structure requires a Biblical application, as the protein impairs the cone and rods in the eyes. We are unable to see God. Gene sis 3:1-24.
With a heavy chain laying directly on the cones and rods, they are unable to conduct impulses for bright light, which is a Na+ channel and saltatory conduction. The cell membrane should be the focus of attention in impairing these cells and blocking the ability to see God's bright light.
The mechanism for aging and death could be readily discussed, using a sheet handout or picture on a slide and the method a free radical is formed from a carbonyl group (C=O...). The blood of Christ which is given at Communion is a necessity for its dissolution and ascension to heaven.
Acknowledging the structure in our schools would explain man's origin and our relationship to God.
Thank you,
David L. Freeman
I am debating on an appropriate response. If this letter warrants one...
