Lasiorhinus krefftii

You may wonder why I'm writing about the Lasiorhinus krefftii (the Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat).

I stumbled on a brief article describing their recovery from being critically endangered (only 138 of them left) by introducing Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat females into the population to promote breeding...

I suppose there's a plus side to being critically endangered, the odds are artificially tipped in your favor to get laid. I guess it's either have lots of sex and go extinct anyway or have lots of sex and save your species from extinction, it's a win-win! ;)
