Pigs evolved to love mud... Weird but not surprised...

There's a BBC article about how pigs have co-evolved to enjoy bathing themselves in mud.

I thought it was an interesting article that starts to explore the effects of natural selection and evolution on behaviors.  Though we usually attribute natural selection and evolution to physical attributes, it's oftentimes overlooked that certain behaviors are also products of an evolutionary selection process.  Though this is best exemplified by very pronounced examples like bees pollenating flowers, it's rare that you encounter an example that cites an interaction with a non-living component of the environment like mud...

In any case, I thought it was kind of interesting.  Perhaps useful for a class on co-evolutionary relationships or even investigating the effects of natural selection on certain behaviors.

Enjoy!
